Job Title: Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Software Engineer to join our computational team. In this role, you will contribute to both back-end and front-end development, optimize software and database systems, and ensure operational excellence and compliance across all technical platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Code Optimization: Refine and optimize Python codes written by our scientists, utilizing parallel computing techniques to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Database Architecture: Design and implement scalable, robust database solutions, integrating SQL and NoSQL technologies, with a focus on Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for streamlined data management.
  • UI/UX Development: Develop and enhance user-friendly interfaces for internal software tools, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for non-technical team members.
  • Software Management: Manage software installations, updates, and licensing to ensure legal compliance and smooth operation.
  • Infrastructure and System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems and software, providing tailored solutions for scientific and engineering teams.
  • Collaboration & Support: Collaborate with IT and computational teams to troubleshoot system issues, improve integrations, and streamline operations.
  • Documentation: Thoroughly document system configurations, operational processes, and maintenance routines to ensure consistency and reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Software Compliance: Understanding of software licensing, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • UI/UX Design: Experience in designing intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for both back-end and front-end systems.
  • Database Management: Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL database management, with a strong foundation in database architecture and design.
  • Linux Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in Linux system administration and maintaining complex infrastructure.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a collaborative mindset to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
