Quality Manager, Machining/Manufacturing at Primus Aerospace in Reisterstown, Maryland

Job Description:

Primus Aerospace specializes in high-precision, high-complexity CNC machining and assembly for the Aerospace and Defense industry. Primus Aerospace is currently seeking a Quality Manager with at least 5 years of quality experience managing in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.

Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 3:30PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and daily direction to quality inspectors.
• Hire, develop, and evaluate quality department personnel.
• Assist and train inspectors to utilize proper inspection processes and techniques.
• Managing Quality Department personnel work schedules and overtime budget.
• Selection, calibration, and maintenance of measurement equipment including CMMs, gages, and other tools.
• Develop inspection and process control plans for parts.
• Support production in part measurement, scrap reduction.
• Develop quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Review contracts.
• Lead material review board activities and ensuring all non-compliant material is dispositioned.
• Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with quality system and FAI (First Article Inspection).
• Review inspector metrics and perform inspector evaluations.
• Handle customer quality escape notifications, DMRs, complaints, RMAs, and corrective & preventive actions.

Qualifications

• 5 years of quality experience in a machine shop/manufacturing environment
• 3-5 years of leadership, experience managing a team of 5-15 employees
• Demonstrated experience using GD&T and a full range of measurement techniques.
• Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and visualization.
• Working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing
• Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• This job requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
