Location: Arlington, VA - THIS IS 100% ONSITE!!
Lead and manage small IT Support team and server administrators, manage domain accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment for <60 users while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Maintain, patch, and update software and hardware used in the digital forensics laboratory to ensure compatibility and effectiveness.
Install, troubleshoot, configure, and maintain on-premises network infrastructure, workstations, servers, system hardware, software, and peripheral equipment in accordance with CIF & Department standards.
Install, replace, configure, and optimize network routers and switches.
Validate and manage network backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Document and maintain connectivity diagrams for CIF hosted systems.
Propose and implement improvements to modernize existing network architecture and infrastructure to support virtualization, and cloud (Azure) integrations.
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current on-premises IT infrastructure,
including hardware, software, networking, and security components.
Identify strengths, weaknesses, bottlenecks, and areas of improvement in the existing
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including IT personnel, management, and other
relevant groups, to gather insights on infrastructure pain points and business
Work with stakeholders to define future IT requirements and goals over the next three
years, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and compliance.
Produce a detailed 3- to 5-year modernization plan, including milestones, timelines,
budget estimates, and recommended technologies.
Research and stay updated on emerging technology trends and best practices in IT
infrastructure, including cloud computing (e.g Azure), virtualization, security protocols, and remote
access solutions.
Identify potential risks associated with the current infrastructure and proposed
modernization plan.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address possible challenges.
Integrate new capabilities (e.g., Azure cloud solutions) with the existing laboratory operations.
Required:
Bachelors in science degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
12 years of relevant, hands-on Network and Server systems administration experience.
Minimum of 2 years in a lead, manager, or supervisory role.
Possess at least ONE of the following certifications:
CASP+CE
CCNP
CCNA
Possess or be able to obtain before start date:
Security+ certification
Demonstrated ability to execute all responsibilities of this position with high proficiency.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, and security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated strength in communication and interpersonal skills and in your ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. You may start with an interim Secret security #clearance
