Aegis Worldwide is partnering with a manufacturing client on the southside of Indianapolis who is looking to add a Quality Manager to their team! My client is looking to add an above and beyond Quality Manager who is excited to help shape culture and processes. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in a Quality Manager role within the manufacturing industry, be confident handling customers, and have experience with AIB and GMP audits.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and direct the quality assurance program for the plant.
  • Establish/maintain quality program
  • Facilitate with department managers internal auditing and 3rd party auditing related to GMP / AIB / HAACP / etc.
  • Facilitate complaint program including root cause and preventative action related to customer complaints as well as large HFI blocks. Point of contact for VIN's managed by operations teams.
  • Determine, recommend, and assist in continuous improvement programs to meet plant/division quality objective and advise the plant manager of appropriate action plans.
  • Coordinate quality activities with other division/plant personnel seeking mutual agreement on problems involving coordination.
  • As needed (specifically when an issue is identified) inspection of incoming purchased materials, work-in-process material, rework materials and finished goods.
  • Recommend and stimulate corrective action with plant personnel/staff managers by encouraging an atmosphere of continuous improvement and employee involvement programs.
  • Lead quality initiatives and procedures to ensure best in class practices are maintained at the facility. Serve as local contact for external audit programs (AIB, HACCP) and assist plant management in implementing corrective actions to such audits.
  • Serve as the plant representative for the plant in dealing with customer complaints or quality problems.
  • Travel as required to customer locations to ascertain the nature of problems and their impacts.
  • Design, implement, and coordinate training programs for managers, staff and employees to assure uniform quality standards are defined and expectations communicated.
  • Manage quality department supplies and expense budget and ensure spending is cost effective.
  • Follow and enforce product safety and packaging safety rules, procedures, and/or guidelines. Ensure our products are safe for intermediate and end users.
  • Work with company's engineering and commercial teams on new product launches, qualification and design parameters to ensure proper CPK's.
  • Attend and support plant leadership team in quality objectives and performance (DMS / POR / etc.)
  • May be assigned other projects and tasks by the Plant Manager as necessary.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • Five years in a senior level quality leadership role
  • Experience in a fast pace and high volume environment
  • Experience with ISO 9000/QS 9000 quality systems.
