The Desktop Imaging Engineer/Systems Admin is responsible for the planning, execution, verification, and validation of the creation, deployment, integration, and maintenance of desktop system images including post-implementation verification/testing, documentation and Tier 1-3 support of BIOS, OS, and related software to meet DoD and other requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support Windows imaging and desktop deployment infrastructure (Windows Deployment services, Microsoft Deployment Services, System Center Configuration
Manager/ Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM))
Deploy, maintain, and update a secure standard image for all relevant environments / domains.
Manage and maintain imaging servers and applications (OS and application updates, Security compliance)
Audit and evaluation of the imaging process to determine costs and risks, supportability, and scalability for desktop systems.
Perform analysis and interpretation of user and product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Continuously evaluate the imaging process for opportunities to automate and reallocate effort toward innovation.
Mandatory Skills:
Experience with system imaging, deployment, and management tools (WDS, MDT, SCCM/MECM).
Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with endpoint security solutions.
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell).
Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices.
Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, and network configurations.
Strong documentation and organizational skills.
Strong understanding of hardware components, peripheral devices, and drivers.
Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11) and related technologies.
