Job Description:

On behalf of the Department of Pediatrics, Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida , CareerPhysician is launching a national search for a visionary leader to become the next Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. The ideal candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, focusing on expanding clinical, educational and research programs. Responsibilities include guiding faculty development, teaching medical students, residents and fellows, and mentoring faculty and trainees.

The ideal candidate should have experience and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality clinical care that ensures positive outcomes for patients and their families.

The successful candidate w ill possess a MD/DO or equivalent degree, ABP board certification with subspecialty certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, possess or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license, and academic leadership experience and accomplishments commensurate with process qualifications for a University of Central Florida College of Medicine faculty appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor.

Our board-certified pediatric hospital medicine faculty provide dedicated care to hospitalized children, with 24/7 faculty coverage split amongst 11 full-time hospital medicine physicians and 2 full-time nurse practitioners .
• The Division Chief, who reports to the Department of Pediatrics Chair, will oversee hospitalists and advanced practice providers, ensuring clinical excellence and professional growth.
• Key initiatives include developing clinical research, quality improvement and innovative care models, while also working closely with various specialties and addressing the needs of underserved populations.
• The role requires a strong background in scholarly activity and securing research funding. As primary leaders in clinical education at Nemours Children's Hospital-Florida, we offer a robust 2-year Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship program. Our team provides training for Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellows, residents (from Pediatric and three Family Medicine programs), medical students (120 M3s per year from UCF), acting interns, APP Acute Care fellows, and APP students.
