The Director of Engineering (DoE) manages and coordinates the work of highly skilled staff placing particular emphasis on managing building envelope related projects. The DoE will provide technical input and design information to our sales force and customers concerning project evaluation, design assistance, product testing, and installation support. Further, the DoE will be responsible for growing the services and staff of the Engineering and Sales Support Team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the engineering, estimating and project management department
Staffing and Growth of the Engineering Services Department and the services provided
Technical Support - provides consultation or expert advice to project engineers, management, sales force, contractors, and architects concerning the products, approvals, competitive information and roofing techniques
Problem-solving- assist the project engineers and project managers and operations team in trouble-shooting or problem-solving.
Engineering- provide engineering assistance to support customer base and operations
Participating in and leading new product and service development
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of structural or civil engineering and construction principles.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial construction; preferably in roofing and/or building envelope, is required.
Possession of a post-secondary degree in engineering, building and construction, or an architectural degree is required.
Professional Engineer's, or Architect's license is required.
Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
The ability to learn new concepts/procedures quickly.
Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, chemicals and/or airborne particles.
