We are recruiting a detail-oriented Purchasing Manager with HVAC purchasing experience. Our client is a larger regional HVAC contractor in the Chantilly, MD area. The ideal candidate will have experience in negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. As a Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimizing costs and maintaining high-quality standards in our HVAC projects.This position is extremely important to the success of the company and reports directly to the Executive Team. No travel is anticipated.
Responsibilities
Source and qualify vendors as necessary in order to meet project demands
Ensure that materials are delivered as scheduled
Collaborate with suppliers, vendors and Project Managers to establish and improve relationships, quality and overall partnerships
Reduce and/or maintain material costs through cost saving techniques along with strategic negotiation with vendors
Negotiate all vendor pricing of all front end commodities
Analyze multiple vendor bids and create all project budgets
Negotiate and monitor master contract agreements and vendor work scopes
Responsible for creation and distribution of all purchase orders and variance purchase orders
Continuously monitor and update vendor pricing
Requirements
5 years experience working as a Purchasing Manager in the construction industry with HVAC projects
Experience with direct purchasing
Experience with direct import preferred
Excellent communication skills
Experience managing / monitoring vendor rebates
Experience negotiated large contracts is preferred
Experience managing purchasing department is preferred
Strong computer skills
Must be extremely organized
Bachelor's degree preferred
