Lead, manage, and build capabilities of the project managers on the team, and serve as the leader of the project management capability
Define and implement standards, deliverables, processes for the project management function and define where consistency is required across project managers
Implement agile operating model across project management, and upskill project managers as needed, and continue to evolve the operating model over time
Establish a culture of continuous improvement and value-orientation with project managers driving holistic execution including deliver, change management, training, measurement and metrics, driving adoption, business process changes, versus just technical delivery
Allocate project managers to projects/ programs, manage team capacity, and prioritize all request coming to the team based on value potential
Manage stakeholder relationships within and outside of technology serving as the face of technology project management
Regularly assess and communicate progress of ongoing projects and in-flight work, timelines, budget, and value delivered
Work with project managers to identify and mitigate risks, issues and escalate and bring stakeholders together resolve them
Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making within the team and among stakeholders
Portfolio and pipeline management
Own the overall technology portfolio of ongoing work and pipeline for potential work, including a robust prioritization process
Rigorously manage ongoing work against timelines, spend, and value that is being delivered on a regular basis and cascade reporting across all levels of the organization
Manage impact against outcomes we have committed to and propose changes to the portfolio to ensure we hit those targets
Own definition of metrics at each level of the organization and aggregate and communicate these to relevant audiences, while also tracking value realization beyond the end of specific projects
Own the technology roadmap and communicate it across relevant audiences
Budgeting and planning
Redefine the planning and budgeting process to align with an agile operating model focused on outcomes
Collaborate with Finance to run the planning and budgeting process through the year and assess where we are on a monthly basis
Manage and maintain standard outputs created by teams for the budgeting and planning process
Manage the budget and plans on a regular basis, using a structured portfolio allocation approach, and escalate and problem solve where needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field
8-10 years of experience in project management, portfolio management, and measurement in an agile context
Strong leadership and team management skills, and experience managing and developing a large, high performing teams
Ability to influence and navigate complex situations without direct authority,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working in large technology organizations
