Our client is the largest privately owned home builder in North America, and they are looking to add a Purchasing Agent to their office in Scottsdale! They are committed to delivering high-quality residential properties.
Position Overview:
The Purchasing Agent will play a crucial role in the procurement process, ensuring that all materials and supplies are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors.
Material Procurement: Manage the purchasing of materials, supplies, and equipment needed for construction projects, ensuring timely delivery to job sites.
Cost Analysis: Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions, aiming to reduce costs without compromising quality.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with project managers to ensure materials are available when needed.
Documentation: Prepare purchase orders, maintain accurate records of purchases, and track expenses to stay within budget.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
Quality Control: Ensure that all purchased materials meet company standards and specifications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the construction or home building industry.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software, preferably JD Edwards.
Knowledge of construction materials and building processes is highly desirable.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
