Job Overview
Reporting to the President, the Director of Finance & Accounting will be responsible for managing all accounting, financial reporting and financial planning / analysis activities of the company. A primary goal of this position is to continue to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team while ensuring all financial statements are prepared in a timely manner and in accordance with GAAP. The Director should have experience in growth enterprises and have played a significant role in building out reporting / Investor packages and mining data for leadership management. Experience in due diligence, financial modeling and acquisition integration is strongly preferred.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Leading the monthly accounting close process, including analytical review of operating results to ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and prepared in accordance with GAAP.
Preparing monthly financial reporting packages to support internal decision-making and to meet all required third-party reporting requirements.
Oversee preparation of Financial Statements - P&L, BS and Cash Flow. Develop detailed revenue, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts.
Providing financial analyses as needed, in areas including customer profitability, contract negotiations, pricing decisions, and capital investments / ROI.
Management
Managing the financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, revenue cycle management, banking, and payroll.
Implementing, documenting, and maintaining adequate and effective internal controls.
Developing, documenting, and maintaining a cohesive system of accounting policies and procedures.
Compliance
Managing the annual financial statement audit and relationship with audit team.
Monthly debt compliance reporting.
Complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
People Management
Recruiting, training, developing, and leading a best-in-class accounting, finance and Human resources team.
Fostering a high-performance culture, particularly during critical financial periods.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 8 years of related experience; CPA or MBA admired.
Proficiency in accounting software systems, Shopworx is a plus.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
