The Electrical Director of Healthcare will lead, guide, and mentor a group of multi-disciplined engineering professionals, develop new and maintain existing client relationships, and work closely with senior leadership to ensure that NV5 corporate goals and guidelines are maintained. A director may be focused on either technical or business development aspects.

Responsibilities
Office Management and Team Leadership:
  • Manages both technical and non-technical staff to ensure their performance meets office and firm-wide goals and objectives.
  • Ensures that NV5 policies and procedures are fairly and consistently followed.
  • Trains staff to develop within their career/profession and to further the goals of the firm.
Client Relationship Management and Marketing:
  • Actively involved in client marketing activities, cross-selling NV5 services available beyond scope requirements for future.
  • Develop and manage client relationships within the markets sector or sectors associated with the Healthcare group.
  • Maintain NV5 industry reputation by always conducting business in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Closely involved in the proposal process. Tasks include delivering presentations, negotiating fees to perform projects of a certain scope, reviewing and approving written proposal documents, and obtaining authorized signatures on contracts.
Project Team Management:
  • Manage and direct employees assigned to group. Help employees grow and develop in their discipline, mentor when appropriate.
Business Planning and Accounting:
  • Develop short term and long-term business development strategies for assigned market sector.
  • Constantly review work in progress and future work to ensure that employees assigned to the group remain busy and profitable. Communicates relevant information promptly to group leaders.
Professional Activities:
  • Must be a member and on a committee of at least one (1) trade specific organization (ASHRAE, ASPE, AIA, etc.).
  • Must be ready to deliver at least one (1) existing prepared AIA credit presentation, white paper, or article per year.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an engineering curriculum accredited by the A.E.T., non-accredited engineering curriculum, related engineering science, or possess a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Requires a minimum of 18 years of specific on-the-job experience in the consulting engineering field, having designed and managed projects independently, including the development of plans and specifications.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the principles of electrical design as well as a general understanding of the principles of all engineering disciplines.
  • Proven track record of generating business in the MEP industry and established contacts with architects and business in the area.
  • Professional Engineer Registration is required.
  • Must keep current through continuing education.
  • Must have strong leadership and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in the operation of a computer and CAD systems, specifically AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software applications is required.
  • Must have a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Communicates effectively with staff, vendors and clients.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent presentation skills are required.
  • Able to always maintain composure, think quickly, and respond appropriately during demanding situations.
  • Possesses strong business development skills.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to positively interact with staff at every level of the organization, clients, and vendors.
  • Strong ability to build an effective team, facilitate team spirit, and resolve conflicts independently.
  • Must be capable of performing all duties of prior position levels.
