Our mission is to support Haskell Indian Nations University as a national center for intertribal education, research and cultural programs.*

Money raised by the Haskell Foundation will assist with unmet needs of the university that are beyond appropriated funds provided by the Bureau of Indian Education.

Haskell Indian Nations University is an Intertribal university located in Lawrence, KS. Founded in 1884 as the United States Indian Industrial Training School, Haskell has evolved into a Higher Learning Commission accredited university serving the educational needs of American Indian and Alaskan Native students throughout the nation.

The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. A strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines will ensure your success in this multi-faceted role.

The Administrative Assistant Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepares various documents including typed correspondence, email, forms, reports, charts, and graphs
  • Records and transcribes meeting notes
  • Ensures competency of work regarding calculations, grammar, composition, accuracy and format in all business correspondence
  • Creates and maintains files and records, as required
  • Maintains utmost level of confidentiality regarding any and all information
  • Receives and distributes incoming communication, i.e. mail and phone calls
  • Works collaboratively with director, managers, and supervisors to accomplish necessary tasks
  • Operates copier, scanner and facsimile machines to reproduce and send records and reports
  • Assist with financial reports as required
  • Prepare accurate bank reconciliations and deposits
  • Use computer software to prepare invoices and financial statements
  • Code and file financial material according to established records management procedures
  • With the Executive Director, prepares for meetings and supporting material for distribution Ensure the timely distribution of material to the Board
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay: $40,000-$45,000
