Job Description:

MANUAL is a digital personal development and mental wellness platform designed to inspire young men to become the best versions of themselves. Today, male students are far less likely to be enrolled, retained, and graduate from higher education institutions, and this is especially true for young men of color. Their mental health outcomes are rapidly worsening, with young men dying by suicide and overdose at alarming rates.

MANUAL works with high schools, universities, and fraternities across the country - including the University of Mississippi, Morgan State University, and MSU-Denver - to solve this challenge, bringing high-quality men's success and mental health programming to tens of thousands of students. MANUAL's evidence-based approach has been proven to enroll young men who are not currently being reached by existing services, and users report significant levels of trust towards the service.

MANUAL was recently acquired by Release, a premiere substance use and mental health recovery organization co-founded by Zac Clark. Established in 2017, the New York based organization provides comprehensive care with transitional living, interventions, case management, and essential family and recovery support services. Most recently, Release Recovery expanded its services in Westchester, NY, providing Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) services.

What you'll do:
  • Own the sourcing and initial discovery of deals. You'll drive our sales and growth that will be critical to the success of the company. On a day-to-day basis, this includes preparing for and attending conferences representing MANUAL, and leading, conducting, and analyzing marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Wear many hats - we need someone who can do many things well with little hand holding and can easily pivot as priorities shift. We're small and scrappy, so it's crucial that you're able to think on your feet and adapt to changing circumstances.

Who you are:
  • B.A. or B.S., ideally with 2+ years of experience in Sales, Growth, or Business Development, or 2+ years of experience in consulting or finance.
  • A high level of ownership and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Easily develops a comfortable rapport and establishes relationships with a variety of individuals.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and great follow-through on tasks.
  • Strong competitive drive with relentlessly high standards.

Logistics:
  • Job Type: Full-time, hybrid work environment with some travel (note: travel may include nights and weekends). Offices in New York City and Washington D.C.
  • Compensation structure: Base compensation will range from $70K - $90K per year. A substantial additional compensation package based on sales with an unlimited cap will be negotiated.
