About the Role:
As a hands-on Purchasing Manager, your primary responsibilities will include critical tasks such as demand planning, ensuring the seamless flow of products, optimizing inventory management, enhancing operational efficiency, and serving as the main purchaser for the company. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and process improvement, all while focusing on meeting customer demand, achieving operational excellence, and procuring materials, components, supplies, equipment, and services at the most favorable costs and terms. Your role will involve maintaining high standards of quality, stock levels, and manufacturing/delivery schedules, as well as developing and implementing strategies to enhance and optimize processes.
Purchasing Manager Responsibilities:
Identify, select, and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, finished goods, and various supplies.
Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure the timely processing of purchase orders and receiving documents.
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing historical data, market trends, and customer feedback.
Optimize inventory levels to balance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Work with vendors to reduce lead times and ensure on-time deliveries.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuous production.
Ensure that purchased materials meet quality standards, conducting necessary inspections.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning and purchasing activities.
Ensure an efficient flow of materials from suppliers to production, focusing on logistics and cost-effectiveness.
Align procurement activities with production schedules and quality control measures.
Develop strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
Analyze supply chain performance and implement improvements.
Prepare and present reports on key procurement and demand planning metrics.
Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in procurement and supply chain operations.
Purchasing Manager Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, operations management, logistics, or a related field preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
4+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Experience in the brush industry is a plus.
Proven experience in developing and implementing supply chain strategies that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
Understanding of manufacturing operations and their integration with supply chain functions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
Familiarity with supply chain management software and tools.
