Your Role as a Preconstruction Manager:

As a Preconstruction Manager, you will be responsible for the critical initial phase of our projects. You'll play a key role in assessing and preparing sites for construction, managing risk, and ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on project goals, scope, and cost. With your construction expertise, you will assess existing infrastructure, identify challenges, and collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver successful projects.

This position reports to the VP of Revenue Operations

Key Responsibilities:

Site Assessment & Risk Evaluation
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of existing infrastructure to assess risk and viability for new projects. Accurately measure and document existing spaces and translate them into preliminary designs and layouts.

Stakeholder Coordination
  • Collaborate with general contractors, engineers, and design teams to align project scope, deliverables, and cost estimates. Lead preconstruction meetings and maintain communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a key liaison between design, construction, and client teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration across all project stages. Influence project outcomes through strong relationships with all involved parties.

Design & Construction Integration
  • Lead or participate in key internal and external design coordination meetings, construction meetings, and onsite field coordination, ensuring that design priorities are met.
  • Work closely with the design team to markup existing drawings and develop rough layouts that meet project specifications. Ensure that all construction designs adhere to the project goals and site conditions.

Technical Expertise
  • Provide comprehensive understanding of technical design, including detailed design drawing sets, specifications, finishes, and shop drawings.
  • Review all design documentation for completeness, accuracy, and technical clarity, ensuring adherence to industry standards.

Project Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare and review preconstruction documentation, including design layouts, cost estimates, and scope agreements. Provide ongoing updates to the project management team to ensure smooth transitions into the construction phase.

  • Ability to identify potential issues early in the preconstruction phase and develop strategies to address them, minimizing project delays and cost overruns.
  • Dedicated to delivering high-quality design outcomes that contribute to strong ROI and meet strategic objectives.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Committed to driving process improvements and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.

Required Skills:

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in in preconstruction, construction management, or a related role.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in leading and managing design projects in a construction or architectural environment.

Desired Skills
  • Expertise in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural and engineering principles, building codes, construction standards, and FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) design competence.
  • Experience with cost estimation and risk analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, with a focus on budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% as necessary
  • Proficiency in MS Office - Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail a must
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be self-motivated and can demonstrate the ability to work without consistent supervision.

Compensation:
  • Salary:$95,000 - $102,000 per year commensurate with experience.

Location:

Hybrid with 3-4 days in office at our headquarters located in Denver, Colorado.
