INDUSTRY: Oil and Gas - Pipeline Construction and Maintenance
LOCATION: Hybrid (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)
CONTEXT: Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. The role involves preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for both facility and pipeline construction projects. The position is hybrid, with an initial focus on office work in Oklahoma City, transitioning to a more remote role with travel to project sites. The ideal candidate will be polished, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and adept at presenting proposals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop detailed cost estimates for facility and pipeline construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and documentation to ensure accuracy.
Create and submit competitive bids and proposals. Draft schedules, format documents, and ensure high standards in punctuation and grammar.
Obtain and assess quotes from vendors and subcontractors. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors for cost-effective procurement.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis, monitor potential financial risks, and adjust estimates based on project updates or changes.
Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and correspondence. Prepare and present comprehensive reports on cost estimates and project budgets.
Work with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project requirements. Assist in refining project scopes and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction practices. Integrate new methods or technologies to enhance estimation accuracy.
Prepare and deliver polished proposals to clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Significant experience can substitute for a degree.
Proven experience in cost estimation for facility and pipeline construction projects. Track record of estimating within the oil and gas or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
Skilled in document formatting, punctuation, and grammar.
Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively and present detailed proposals with clarity.
