Job Description:

The Buyer is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company's needs for direct and indirect materials. These products are to be secured at cost quality and at delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance standards. The position is further responsible for conducting necessary data analysis and for help maintaining the master data set up in Microsoft Dynamics for smooth functioning of operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Initiate, closely monitor and release purchase orders and amendments for product; arrange for submission and inspection of sample products as required; maintain a close coordination with operations to ensure timely execution of product sourcing activities.
  • Review and act on MRP alerts by creating, releasing, and confirming purchase orders.
  • Enter and maintain planning parameters for purchased materials and information related to vendor master data within the ERP system.
  • Advise company activities and critical developments in the supply chain to management.
  • Analyze supplier capabilities and search prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control, and management; negotiate prices and delivery terms with guidance from a senior buyer or the purchasing management for assigned responsibilities.
  • Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.
  • Perform strategic decision making to align with the company's long-term and short-term goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
• MRP/MPS experience within Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Proficient in problem solving, process analysis; capacity to troubleshoot and correct problems in high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of inbound logistics for domestic and international supply chain.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently within team focused environment.
  • Excellent organization, time management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with employees, customers, and vendors at all levels of organization including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Firm commitment to customer service excellence in all circumstances.
  • Experience with equivalent production and inventory control procedures; experience with shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Strong Excel skills.
