Job Description:

This is a critical leadership position with opportunities to influence key business decisions and drive significant financial and operational improvements across the organization.

The role will require working closely as a business partner with management and various functions including Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, and R&D to develop and implement strategic, operational, and process improvements that will drive business performance and margin growth. The position reports directly to the Finance Director and is located at a manufacturing site in Madison, IN.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Support Operations and Supply Chain leaders in driving process improvements, establishing rigor with operational scorecards/metrics to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Analyze monthly financial performance, prepare budgets and forecasts, and collaborate with plant management to improve and measure operational performance.
  • Partner with plant leadership to identify opportunities for cost savings and increased productivity.
  • Enhance reporting processes to provide relevant, timely financial data for decision-making in line with organizational goals.
  • Track and analyze trends in key performance indicators, including revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Prepare and present financial performance trends and conduct root cause analysis of forecast/plan variances.
  • Oversee cost accounting to maintain and enhance standard costing processes.
  • Support planning efforts related to capacity versus demand in forecast and strategic planning processes.
  • Improve inventory accuracy through monitoring and enforcing a cycle count program.
  • Utilize analytical tools to identify areas for operational efficiency improvements and cost savings.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing events, plant walks, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the finance team, fostering professional development.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all business information.

Job Specifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Previous experience as a Manufacturing Plant Controller.
  • Strong background in standard cost accounting systems, with CPA/CMA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems.
  • 10+ years of experience in a professional finance/business environment.
  • Strong business acumen, with excellent communication and results-driven focus.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on delivering timely, accurate financial information.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with a continuous improvement mindset.
