THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a Managing Director/VP of User Experience to run day-to-day operations of our Brand Experience (UX) practice, which is made up of the following disciplines: research, strategy, content, design, change management and front-end engineering. As Managing Director/VP of UX you will be responsible for driving the strategy, vision, and execution of our client's digital and business transformation needs that span customer experience, employee experience, workforce automation, AI and beyond. We are looking for a visionary that can help guide the team in creating industry-leading, award-winning work.

The Managing Director of UX works closely with both clients, practice leads, discipline leads and team members to understand business and user needs, developing, and creating user experience strategy, and advocating for users throughout the project development cycle. The UX Director will engage, manage and ensure exceptional execution of all user experience activities; research, analysis, planning, and design, while mentoring team members in the daily execution of project-related activities. The ideal candidate will be resourceful and flexible, with exceptional teamwork skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while encouraging and supporting different work styles. Essentially, we are looking for a visionary with an informed point of view, who stays abreast to market, UX and digital trends and can bring those insights into our practice, aligning with our ability to execute.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage daily operations of a multi-disciplinary user experience team of 50+ people, responsibilities will include both management, career development, discipline development, tool enablement, business development support, leading pursuits and managing the team's budgets and expenses
  • Ability to both successfully sell, manage, mentor, and do user-experience related projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead sales efforts, define a unique selling proposition, shape proposals, and lead pitches to clients,
  • Highly capable of mentoring, motivating and managing internal team members
  • Collaborate and support sales, marketing and internal teams on business development and client engagement activities
  • Partner with other Service Offerings to take Go-To-Market offerings across our technical product portfolio and industry verticals
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in resolving complex cross-functional issues as related to user experience
  • Prioritize feedback on strategic solutions for continuous improvement efforts
  • Understand the holistic impact of user experience decisions and strategy across an entire organization
  • Be a storyteller to bring ideas to life, garnering influence, buy-in and adoption across project teams, clients, as well as companywide
  • Strong leadership when collaborating with design, engineering, product, sales and marketing
  • Lead projects and team in a confident yet humble and open manner; plus demonstrate negotiation and leadership skills
  • Advocate for importance and value of user experience and human-centered design as an essential discipline for our clients and within our own organization
  • Determine project approach and resource requirements and create project scoping information to support client proposals
  • Form a clear and insightful understanding of our clients' business, their needs, and the creative opportunities and challenges that exist in their categories
  • Tactfully communicate, often facilitating dialogue between internal teams and external clients
  • Promote user experience and strategy as a practice within the organization; demonstrating excellence in user research process, communication, and industry-leading research techniques.
  • Facilitate workshops rooted in the design thinking methodology to discover insights that lead to innovative modern solutions

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • 15+ years of professional UX experience or an adjacent field
  • 10+ years of experience in organizational, team management and mentorship
  • Demonstrated ability to sell, and project manage UX-related work, while leading a highly effective team
  • Previous agency or consulting experience a plus
  • Understanding and experience in different CX and EX tech platforms
  • A deep understanding of Digital Transformation, Customer Experience, Workplace Automation, Employee Experience and Service Design
  • Understanding and/or experience in the following areas are a plus: Finance & Accounting, HR & Talent Acquisition, Procurement, Risk Assurance, Call Center and Supply Chain
  • Strong decision-making abilities and autonomy. Must be able to take strategic findings and make actionable recommendations for improvements
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, in addition to the ability to conduct face-to-face interviews, workshops and business development/proposal meetings
  • The ability to identify appropriate methodologies and tasks required to solve a client's problem and successfully deliver on the solution
  • A flexible, versatile, and collaborative approach to project work that is still grounded in methodology and backed by research
  • Excellent, highly creative communication and critical-thinking skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually, and collaborating across teams
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in User Experience, Design, Communications, or related field

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
  • All Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors, including geographic location, market, and operational factors
  • Base Pay Range: $192,000-$240,000
  • Other Compensation: Incentive Compensation
