We are seeking an experienced Global Metals Commodities Manager to lead our metals sourcing and procurement strategy across international markets. This role will require deep expertise in metals commodities, with a focus on optimizing supply chains, managing market volatility, and driving cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience using SAP for procurement and supply chain operations. You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing key supplier relationships, and mitigating risks to ensure the consistent supply of critical metals.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy specifically for metals commodities, ensuring stable and cost-efficient procurement of materials such as steel, aluminum, copper, and other essential metals.
Leverage SAP to manage procurement activities, supplier data, contract management, and to optimize end-to-end supply chain processes.
Conduct detailed market research and analysis on global metal market trends, pricing, and supply risks, including geopolitical and environmental impacts.
Negotiate favorable terms, contracts, and pricing agreements with global metal suppliers to secure long-term, sustainable partnerships.
Monitor metals supply chain risks, including price volatility, trade restrictions, and regulatory changes, and implement strategies to mitigate potential disruptions.
Collaborate closely with procurement, supply chain, finance, and operations teams to align metals sourcing strategies with overall business objectives.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, environmental standards, and ethical sourcing requirements.
Provide regular reports on key performance metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, market trends, and risk assessments.
Continuously evaluate and refine sourcing strategies to stay competitive in global metals markets and to drive operational efficiencies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
5+ years of experience in metals commodities procurement, with a deep understanding of global metal markets and supply chains.
Proficiency in SAP for procurement, supplier management, and supply chain processes is required.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations and build strategic supplier partnerships in the metals industry.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market conditions, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience working in a global procurement environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
