Position Summary:
This position assists with the implementation of one or more of the projects within Childhood Services that support best practices in early education. This position reports directly to the Project Coordinator. This position is governed by institution policy. This position is funded by an external source and the appointment shall not continue beyond the date funding ceases. This position may be located anywhere in the state of Arkansas; it will require regular travel to sites throughout the state
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide coaching/technical assistance and training on best practices for early educators and coaches
Work with early educators to set and progress toward goals to enhance their teaching and/or administrative practice
Participate in the development and implementation of short- and long-term goals related to Childhood Services projects
Follow project procedures and compile information for reports and evaluations
Participate in the evaluation and review of Childhood Services projects
Establish an in-home office area to maintain files and documentation needed to complete the duties of the job
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice as defined by NAEYC • Knowledge of best practices in early childhood program management and leadership • Knowledge of Arkansas Workforce Knowledge and Competencies and the NAEYC Competency • Knowledge of Arkansas Minimum Licensing Requirements • Knowledge of Arkansas Better Beginnings quality rating improvement system
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment • Advanced verbal and written communication skills • Skill in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and implementing projects • Skills needed in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Internet-based applications
• Ability to supervise other staff, if needed
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance
Occasional evenings, weekends, and travel. 12-month position

This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State

Minimum Qualifications:
Formal education equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree Childhood Education, Psychology and Counseling, Social Sciences, Family Studies or a related field
