Here’s What You’ll Get To Do

• Provide detailed estimates to our customers in a timely manner.  Regularly work from architectural drawings and specifications, shop drawings or elevation take-offs


• Independent analysis and interpretation of architectural plans as it relates to specifications and design requirements.


• Conduct this analysis and interpretation to meet industry standards and provide solutions favorable to Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope products.


• Follow up on estimates and provide feedback concerning market pricing levels.


• Achieve acceptable sales and margin levels.  Monitor actual vs. estimated costs and work with estimating supervisor to adjust standards accordingly.


• Provide consultation, coordination, and assistance to our customers, sales force and internal personnel.


• Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence and other project specific information.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

• Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job.


• Minimum of 3 years prior experience estimating glazing projects or similar products from architectural drawings and specifications.


• Ability to read, interpret, & understand architectural drawings and specifications and provide detailed take offs and estimates that incorporate different building envelope solutions.


• Experience using electronic estimating tools, including estimating software, on-screen take-off tools and Excel spread sheets. 


• Knowledge of aluminum glazing systems & their applications.


• Understanding of glass, composite metal panels, and other infill options as well as their applications.


• Basic understanding of engineering to be able to use various in-house programs for structural review and the ability to identify and enlist help with problematic conditions.


• Strong geometry & math skills.


• Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize workload and work with minimal supervision.


• Must be able to communicate effectively & conduct themselves professionally, excellent written & verbal communication skills.


• Working knowledge of fabrication and installation in order to have good understanding of customer needs.

Physical Requirements

• The position is a largely sedentary; however, caution needs to be taken when lifting files and/or boxes and opening file cabinet drawers. 


• There are occasional visits to the plant floor. In which case, safety rules related to the plant must be followed. 


• To avoid injuries to hands, back and neck, proper ergonomics should be maintained while working at a desk/workstation.
