RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Telemetry Data Engineer in Greenwood Village, CO.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Data Engineer/Architect to lead the development and optimization of telemetry data feeds within our telecommunications network. You will be responsible for engineering, creating, and enriching data feeds while transitioning from traditional data collection methods to more real-time streaming telemetry. This position requires a strategic approach to managing legacy systems while introducing new data features that can be consumed by stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Telemetry Data Engineer will analyze existing data feeds coming through access networks, primarily DOCSIS, and assess their consumption patterns


• Engineer and optimize telemetry data feeds using SNMP and real-time streaming technologies


• Lead the transition from SNMP-based polling to streaming telemetry for more granular, real-time network insights


• Ensure that new telemetry data feeds provide stakeholders with seamless access to data without requiring significant changes to their existing logic


• As a Telemetry Data Engineer, you will collaborate with teams to create new data features and enrichments that meet evolving network demands


• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the new telemetry architecture integrates effectively with existing systems


• Support legacy users by ensuring minimal disruption during the transition to real-time data streaming

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field


• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Architect, with a focus on telemetry data


• Strong experience with DOCSIS and SNMP for telemetry data collection and analysis


• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data stream processing platforms like Kafka


• Demonstrated ability to engineer, create, and optimize data feeds and telemetry systems


• Knowledge of access networks and how data is collected and consumed


• Strong understanding of telemetry protocols, data enrichment, and real-time streaming technologies


• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex data systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
