Salary/Position Classification


  • $1492.50 monthly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

  • 8.01 hours per week

  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No

  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No


Purpose of Position

The Department of Music at the University of North Dakota is searching to fill a part-time instructor to begin October 21. They will be responsible for the instruction and assessment for one on-campus section of MUSIC 440: Methods and Materials for Elementary Music. Experience or demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups is preferred.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruct, and assess students enrolled in MUSC 440: Methods and Materials for Elementary Music


Required Competencies

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students

  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

  • Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the Department of Music.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in music education with a specialization in elementary music education.

  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching elementary general music

  • 10+ years of teaching experience

  • Established record of teaching differential equations in an on-campus course modality
