COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate: $29.10 / HR DOE

JOB SUMMARY This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of end dumps and or belly dumps (with and without pups (trailers) and tarping systems). Drivers will deliver all types of soils, aggregates and other materials to locations both residential and commercial. Work will be performed per the dispatcher's instruction, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs. The driver is responsible for the safe and efficient working condition of the equipment. S/he is expected to perform daily pre/post-trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines. The driver will also perform minor servicing and maintenance with major problems being referred to the immediate supervisor.

When working with coworkers employed as Material Spotters/Dump Personnel, constant eye contact will be maintained with this person while backing. Communication with ground personnel will be maintained using hand signals or other designated movements. If the location of the Material Spotters/Dump personnel becomes unknown during the course of the process; the vehicle is to be stopped until the driver can see the ground personnel.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Must be able to operate Manual Transmission.
• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) and related equipment to be operated.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to keep time and material records.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
• Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
• Must have maneuvering and backing skills with double and triple pup.
• Driver must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
• The driver must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
• Connect and disconnect pup trailer.
