WHAT YOU'LL DO


Ascend’s Content Solutions sales team is currently hiring an Account Specialist to drive the continued growth of our cybersecurity and computer science curriculum solutions within the traditional non-profit 2- and 4-year college and university academic markets. This position will support the overall revenue performance for this high growth segment with the objective to close new business and work with existing customers to drive retention and expansion growth within the assigned territory. As a specialist for our cybersecurity portfolio, this position will be proficient with our cyber education technology solutions, with a concentration on the technical skills needed to understand the needs of our education customers and drive adoption of our cybersecurity content and cloud labs platform.  As a leader in the  course materials provider industry, we’re leading the way in providing an innovative hands-on learning experience for students to learn the technical skills necessary to excel in the computer science, IT and cybersecurity industry.  Position reports directly to a Sales Manager.


WHERE YOU’LL WORK


This position will work hybrid out of our Burlington, MA office.  Remote candidates in the United States will be considered.


HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME



  • Develop a territory plan and strategy to prospect and close new business opportunities for our computer science and cybersecurity products within the higher education market

  • Through retention, upsell, and cross-sell activity, drive customer renewals and accelerate expansion growth within your outlined sales territory.

  • Sell and provide specialized service for computer science and cybersecurity learning solutions including print, digital, assessment, and best in-class virtual cloud labs.

  • Engage with clients at the instructor and department leadership level to exceed sales goals by establishing mutually beneficial relationships which lead to revenue growth and long-term customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for accurately representing and becoming an internal expert on our cybersecurity content solutions

  • Collaborate with sales management, sales enablement, product, and marketing teams to develop effective promotional campaigns and lead generation efforts

  • Work closely with Sales Development Representative and Solutions Consultant from Operations team to effectively prospect, manage, present, and troubleshoot for customer base. Work closely with cybersecurity sales team to provide market insights to continue to drive strong  renewal rates, overall account growth, and brand awareness.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 3+ years of successful sales experience, preferably within higher education e-learning industry

  • Strong preference for candidates, who have been accountable for motivating and energizing audiences to embrace the need and value for technology-based educational solutions

  • Demonstrated consistent achievement of individual sales goals and experience working in a team-based contributed sales model

  • Candidates must be organized and possess the ability to work independently to implement shared strategies developed by the sales leadership team

  • Strong territory and account management skills within a team-based sales model

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and resources simultaneously

  • Solid financial acumen with understanding of growth drivers

  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications.
