Job Description:

SkyBridge Luxury & Associates has partnered with an esteemed ultra-luxury hotel in Los Angeles to identify a highly experienced Payroll Manager. This position requires a dedicated professional with a background in hospitality payroll, ideally with experience in union environments. The Payroll Manager will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payroll processing for the property's workforce while maintaining meticulous records and supporting both employees and management with payroll-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis for all hotel employees, including verification of hours, adjustments for overtime, PTO, holiday pay, and other earnings or deductions.
  • Union Payroll Management: Work closely with union representatives to ensure payroll adheres to all union contracts and agreements, including processing union-specific deductions and benefit contributions.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, including taxes, garnishments, and other statutory requirements. Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive payroll records, including electronic timekeeping systems and employee payroll files, ensuring accuracy and timely updating.
  • Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare payroll reports and perform monthly payroll reconciliations to ensure correct postings in the general ledger.
  • Employee Relations: Address payroll inquiries from employees, providing clear communication and support regarding paychecks, deductions, and policies. Manage any payroll disputes in a professional and timely manner.
  • Training and Development: Assist department managers in understanding payroll processes, especially as they pertain to labor budgeting, compliance, and scheduling in line with the union contract.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of payroll management experience within the hotel or luxury hospitality industry.
  • Union Experience: Previous experience processing payroll in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll systems and relevant hotel-specific software, such as ADP, Paycom, or similar. Familiarity with union payroll requirements is highly advantageous.
  • Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
