Job Description:

Financial Analyst

Norwalk, CT

Compensation: Base 70-80k plus bonus (90-100k "all in")

Requires: 1 - 2 years of financial modeling, investment banking, FP&A, M&A or Corporate Development experience which should include strong financial modeling experience, i.e.. ability to build an IRR model, present value, etc., and intermediate Excel skills.

Our client is a premier lender with expertise in the capital markets. The company is seeking a rising financial analyst who will work to understand all facets of the business through budgeting, reporting, and analysis.

Direct Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst:
• Performance Analysis: Analyze and predict payment/loss performance of a $1B lease and loan portfolio, driving key strategic decisions
• Financial Modeling: Produce and manage financial models for the Client, its portfolio of strategic investments, and prospective strategic investments.
• M&A Support: Provide analytical support for M&A processes
• Correspondence: Communicate with banks, rating agencies, and investors regarding capital raising or other initiatives.
• Presentation Preparation: Prepare presentations for the Board of Directors and external stakeholders (e.g., banks, rating agencies, strategic partners).
• Reporting: Produce and troubleshoot monthly reports for management, the Board of Directors, and lenders.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct analysis to inform all facets of the Client's strategy and decision-making.

Qualifications of the Financial Analyst:
• The ideal candidate has 1 - 2 years of financial modeling, investment banking, M & A, FP&A, portfolio management or corporate development analyst experience at an investment bank, equipment finance or asset/investment manager, with solid understanding of debt, equity, capital raising, strategic planning, analytics, metrics, KPIs, etc.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school. A degree in business/finance or a related field is preferred
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and deliver results
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to "think on your feet"
• Track record of strong time management and ability to multi-task
• Must have a strong understanding of financial concepts and be able to perform basic financial analysis.
