Overview
Job Summary:
Dendreon is seeking a highly motivated Medical Science Liasion (MSL) who resided in the Northeastern (Philadephia, South New Jersy, Boston and Washington D.C.) region to join its Medical Affairs team and support the only approved autologous immunotherapy for prostate cancer. The Dendreon MSL is a credentialed therapeutic and disease state expert who engages in scientific exchange with leaders in the areas of Urology, Oncology, and Immuno-Oncology. The MSL provides highly technical scientific information to national and regional external stakeholders to ensure their understanding of our product and gathers insights on areas of therapeutic interest to Dendreon.
Responsibilities
Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with health care professionals (HCPs):
Provide disease state and therapeutic awareness to urology and oncology thought leaders and HCPs
Respond to scientific questions from urology and oncology thought leaders and HCPs
Serve as an advanced scientific expert in the specified therapeutic area (prostate cancer and immunology) for the assigned regional territory
Represent Dendreon at scientific conferences and meetings, gathering insights from thought leaders and HCPs
Participate and lead external Advisory Boards and internal strategic planning meetings
Participate in the conduct of clinical trials:
Identify and support investigators and clinical operations in the conduct of Dendreon clinical trials
Respond to requests from physicians interested in investigator-sponsored studies
Participate in the education of HCPs and Dendreon employees:
Participate in the provision of medical information at scientific meetings and at Medical Affairs booths
Participate in the education of HCPs in the appropriate use of our product
Serve as a resource in the education of sales, marketing, and professional services employees
Participate in team and company educational and strategic discussions regarding the current and future prostate cancer and immunotherapy landscape
Demonstrate business acumen regarding industry, compliance, and other Pharma rules affecting Medical Affairs
Demonstrate understanding of the role and contributions of MSLs and the Medical Affairs organization
Qualifications
Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD) or equivalent
3 years related experience in FDA-regulated industry (prior MSL experience required for the Sr. MSL role)
2 years of clinical experience with preference for Oncology, Urology, or Immunology outside of education and training
Strong overall written and verbal communication skills
Strong demonstrated presentation skills
Proficient in all MS Office applications
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Frequent travel will be required and could be up to 60%, including overnight stays and occasional weekend travel
Must reside within the designated territory (preferably CA) or willing to travel/relocate for the posted position
