The Lead Fleet Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and documentation of branch location vehicles. Job duties include, but are not limited to, all of those listed below. This position requires travel through various locations within the assigned region and may be based out of any of the branch locations. The Lead Fleet Technician may oversee and assist technicians of a lower classification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose and Repair vehicle systems, including air brakes, electrical, hydraulic, engine and emission related equipment.
Diagnose and repair specialty equipment
Respond to road calls or breakdowns when necessary
Order Parts and Supplies as necessary
Utilize Dossier Fleet Management Software to record repairs and maintenance
Assist the regional fleet manager or supervisor to facilitate resolution of fleet related issues.
Perform Preventive Maintenance on various types of vehicles and equipment
Perform inspections and document conditions on all equipment
Assist in coordinating repairs with outside vendors
Ensure that all Federal, State, and Local EPA, DOT, ANSI, OSHA and Safety laws and regulations concerning fleet operations are adhered to.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Prior experience working in a fleet or transportation industry is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office -Excel, Outlook is preferred.
Experience using fleet management software is preferred.
Proficiency with software, databases, and web programs preferred.
Strong time-management/organizational skills · Strong attention to detail
Maintain a high level of integrity and make ethical decisions
Welding experience is preferred
5+ years' experience in medium/heavy truck repair
Have valid Class A or B license with tanker endorsement (or ability to obtain one)
Be drug-free (a pre-employment drug screening and physical is required)
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience
Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent, Trade School preferred
Minimum 3 + Years' Experience in Automotive, Fleet or Transportation Industry
Commercial Driver's License Required
