Overview:


Martin Marietta is seeking an experienced Capital Budgets Analyst. This position is located at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC where you will work closely with internal customers providing guidance and exceptional customer service. In this role, you must have the ability to thrive in our fast-paced organization while identifying and resolving problems both independently and as a part of a team.


As a Capital Budgets Analyst, a typical day might include the below:




  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal customers

  • Apply the Company's capital policy and provide timely guidance to personnel

  • Analyze/review capital spending throughout an asset's life cycle

  • Communicate with internal customers to gather information and gain an understanding of capital projects and/or accounting treatment of transactions, including the research of unique circumstances

  • Reconcile various capital and fixed assets accounts using Blackline

  • Review workflows related to asset status changes and perform follow-ups

  • Provide suggestions for process improvements, which focus on sustainability, efficiency, and innovation

  • Process timely and accurate transactions, including journal entries around capital job set-up/close-out and asset recording within various systems, including the Company's ERP system (JD Edwards)

  • Create and maintain assigned process documents, flow charts and job aids

  • Involvement in ad hoc analysis and special projects

  • Participate in occasional plant site visits, presentations, and training on capital and fixed assets



Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

  • 1+ year of work experience in a financial a setting

  • An understanding of accounting principles and internal controls, especially those related to capital and fixed assets life cycle

  • Experience with an ERP system

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tool(s).

  • Experience in data analytics

  • Strong organizational and time management ability

  • Ability to travel on occasion (< 5%)
