Position Summary

The Membership and Admission Assistant will serve as an important contact for Sanctuary visitors and members to drive membership sales, strengthen the Corkscrew’s membership community, and process daily admissions.


While working at the Blair Visitor Center, you will engage visitors and members, initiate new membership sales, handle inquiries, and facilitate guest entry. Additionally, the Membership and Admission Assistant will work closely with the Volunteer and Membership Manager to support membership experiences, events, programs, and promotions. This is a part-time, seasonal position at 25 hours a week based in Naples, Florida.


Compensation:


$15.00 / hour


Essential Functions
  • Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to a welcoming environment for all members, visitors, volunteers, and program participants.

  • Promote, sell, and renew memberships.

  • Collaborate with Visitor Center staff to create positive visitor experiences.

  • Handle membership inquiries in person and over the phone.

  • Assist with admissions and general visitor questions or needs.

  • Generate ideas to enhance or improve member experiences.

  • Assist with member events and programs.

  • Support donor cultivation at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary by helping to identify members wishing to increase their financial support of the Sanctuary.

  • Assist with Audubon staff to ensure that equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging principles are incorporated and followed in all aspects of our work.

  • Assist with end-of-day facility closure by clearing the boardwalk of visitors, as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications and Experience
  • GED or high school diploma preferred and 1-2 years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

  • Experience in a customer service, retail, or administrative support role.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment and professionally represent Audubon to the public and volunteers.

  • Highly motivated to engage with visitors and members and sell new memberships.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to engage people of diverse backgrounds.

  • Very organized, with the ability to multi-task.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and comfortable working in databases.

  • Interest and commitment to the mission of the National Audubon Society, and ability to communicate Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary’s mission, goals, and programs effectively to the public.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays.

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. and traverse at least 3 miles in a variety of weather conditions with or without accommodation.
