We are looking for a Payroll Specialist in San Diego, California.
SUMMARY
Handle a variety of complex accounting duties in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of payroll, salary, and benefits. Analyze and update payroll and benefit data on a monthly basis.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
o Assist HR with Onboarding as needed
o Process employee status changes
o Process benefit changes on a monthly basis
o Process wage garnishments
o Reply to employee questions and resolve any issues that arise
o Confirm timesheets are accurately submitted and approved
o Calculate pay in leu of benefits for Service Contract Act covered employees
o Process payroll bi-weekly
o Collect payroll reports to maintain accurate payroll records
o Reconcile general ledger accounts
o Process Off-cycle payrolls as needed for terminations, bonuses, etc.
o Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
o Setup new State Income Tax and State Unemployment accounts as needed
o Work with the CPA as needed for taxes
o Ensure all taxes are paid on time
o Resolve any State or Federal tax notices involving withholding account issues
o Assist in internal and external audits of payroll records
o Complete metric requirements listed in the Financial Desktop Guide
o Provide information to other departments or external inquiries as requested
o Multiple state laws and regulations
o Alternative workweek and overtime regulations
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR §§ 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
