Faculty within the College of Education at University of Central Missouri support the university’s mission of providing student-centered, quality education and are committed to the success of students. During contractual employment, faculty members are expected to be available to assist, engage, and respond to students, colleagues, departmental, college, and institutional needs.
Teaching - The primary responsibility of the faculty is quality teaching in their respective content areas, regardless of delivery format. This entails adequate preparation for courses, effective course design and instruction, and fair and timely evaluation/feedback of student progress. To ensure quality teaching, faculty must be committed to the success of students as well as ongoing assessment of curriculum and of student learning.
Education:
The Department of Special Education and Behavior Analysis at the University of Central Missouri invites applicants for a position in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This is Assistant Professor position is a tenure track 9 month position at 100% FTE with opportunities for teaching during the summer semester based on curricular and administrative need.
Teaching, scholarship, and service requirements of this position include: Deliver instruction in graduate and undergraduate on-campus, distance/video, hybrid, or online courses in topics related to special education and applied behavior analysis. Supervise undergraduate and graduate field experience and practicum students in the application of special education practices and applied behavior analysis in schools homes, communities, by making meaningful connections between university and field experiences. Work with colleagues on campus and in state and national ABA professional organizations to ensure that the ABA Program curriculum reflects our strong commitment to and promotion of educational equity and social justice. Participate in and maintain the Behavior Analysis program, ensuring integration with College of Education initiatives. Advise, support, and mentor students. Collaborate with college faculty in recruitment efforts and retention supports. Collaborate in department and university program development and committees. Special priority will be given to attention to individuals who have experience educating students with severe developmental disabilities.
