Program Overview


Each intern is presented a real business challenge within their group that provides the opportunity to exchange ideas with subject matter experts for optimal learning and development that leads to real solutions. However, we aren't ALL business. Throughout the semester, our University Relations team hosts exclusive events such as featured executive lunch & learns, plant tours, personal & professional development sessions and intern socials.



Your Role


The Laminate Product Design team is looking for a graphic Design Intern to join their team for the Summer of 2025. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, including creating graphic presentations and assisting with the annual trend presentation. This is a hands-on role ideal for a creative, detail-oriented individual looking to gain experience in product design and trend analysis within the laminate industry. As an intern, you'll support the Product Design team with a variety of tasks based on your skills and interests.



Key Responsibilities

• 
  Yearly Trend Presentation: Primary responsibility will be designing the annual trend presentation under the guidance of the design team.
• 
  Trend Research: Assist in researching and identifying design trends to inform product direction.
• 
  Video Creation: Develop a short, engaging video showcasing current trends.
• 
  Dynamic Design Presentations: Create visually appealing presentations In PowerPoint for various design projects.
• 
  Product Ideation and Visualization: Participate in brainstorming sessions and help visualize new product concepts.
• 
  Accessory Product Development: Support design efforts for accessory products
• 
  Design Library Management: Help organize and update the design library.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Graphic Design
• Minimum 2.7 GPA
• Completed freshman year of courses
• Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels
• Analytical skills, focus on detail, problem-solving, decision making and organization/planning aptitude.

Preferred Skills

• Organizational skills
• Mid to Advanced Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator) and PowerPoint experience a must.
• Self-starter, motivated
• Previous internship experience is a plus
• Keen eye for design
• Simple brilliant work often within quick deadlines
• Work efficiently and effectively and demonstrate time management excellence.
