Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $68,500 - Midpoint: $89,100 (Salaried E11)



Department/Organization: 209317 - Early College



Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings and weekends.

Job Summary: The Assistant Director of UA Early College provides and implements a vibrant learning community through academic and student support programs and services for UA Early College students. Assists with the administration, development, and delivery of academic college credit and non-credit services that extend the resources of the University to qualified high school students. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise UA Early College staff and students.



Additional Department Summary: Oversees UA Early College enrollment and academic advising teams, consisting of an enrollment services coordinator, five full-time academic advisors (Academic Advisors I and II), and all aspects related to enrollment, outreach, and academic advising. Serves as the primary point of contact for all educator-related and external stakeholder communication for the UA Early College enrollment and academic advising teams to facilitate open advising for UA Early College students. Oversees UAEC 200 (new) and current student course data and enrollment management. Approves course offerings and course loads. Facilitates advising schedules for the UA Early College academic advising team. Manages any advising-related processes including student course approvals. Oversees the UA Early College student grade dissemination process. Serves as an academic advisor on an as-needed basis. Oversees the onboarding process for enrollment and advising teams and will lead/facilitate any enrollment management and academic advisor-related professional development and training. Implements best practices to retain and advance talent, and implement and develop flexible, reliable, and age-appropriate advising processes for UA Early College students.



Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of K-12, higher education, or continuing education experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of K-12, higher education, or continuing education experience; OR doctorate degree and some K-12, higher education, or continuing education experience.



Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated poise. Ability to relate incredibly well with staff, students, educators, and parents. Ability to work with various groups of people. Ability to be a self-starter and independent worker. Strong leadership development skills and be eager to supervise others while developing talent. Proficient with data management tools including Slate CRM, OnBase, and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail. Enhanced time management and organizational abilities.



Preferred Qualifications: Desire to work with high school students and K12 educators. Experience as an academic advisor or high school guidance counselor. Experience with enrollment management and admissions processes. Experience with supervising and/or managing a team of people.
