Job Description:

Tool Room Attendant



  • Receive incoming materials.

  • Transport and store the materials in the correct location.

  • Record good receipts electronically. Report discrepancies, shortage, quality defects.

  • Notify of stocking quantities and recommend stock replenishments to minimum stock level.

  • Monitor PO log for incoming materials and alert of pending or late deliveries. 

  • Oversee site lubrication stock for quantity and quality.

Summary:


The Tool Room Attendant maintains the daily operation of the tool room and related components to include, but not limited to the following: Orders, receives, issues and turn-in of unserviceable tools. Responsible for change of custody and tool room inventories. Submit through calibration, special and calibrated tools as scheduled, to maintain a within use tolerance status. Orders through the supply system and maintains shop supplies / materials for daily operations.


 


Additional Functions



  • Must have a strong drive to keep and maintain a neat and organized inventory through quantity tracking and concise record keeping.

  • Must be knowledgeable in computer and other office equipment usage.

  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment (forklifts, etc.).

  • Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals.

  • Field of Expertise: Issuing, receiving, and storing tools.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.

  • Work under stressful circumstances and meet short suspense dates.


Education and Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).


 Requirements:



  • Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, & complete each shift.

  • Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site.

  • Understand and follow Instructions from the direct supervisor.

This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions are sedentary but may require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 20 pounds; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger and motor dexterity.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers/printers/scanners/fax machines, phones, filing cabinets, etc. Employee must have the ability to transport necessary equipment and supplies and set-up for meetings, etc.  The employee must have a current driver’s license and have the ability to travel to various locations at times for various reasons.
