MAIN MIXER OPERATOR at Kent Nutrition Group in Waterloo, Iowa

Job Description:

Kent Nutrition Group/Blue Seal, a member of the KENT® Corporation family of companies has a great opportunity to join their team as a Main Mixer Operator in Waterloo, Iowa! This role will perform all scheduled feed mill mixing in a safe, proficient and efficient manner for optimum production that meets company specifications.

This is a 1st shift opportunity with a schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain mixing system for all finished feeds

• Calibration of the mixing system

• Ensure all mixing is in accordance with formula card for quality assurance

• Record and update logs of various feed formulations mixed daily

• Make sure equipment is operating properly, cleaned and maintained to ensure proper and continual working condition if mill operation

• Keep management informed of any errors or issues in the mixing process

• Follow feed mill Standard Operating Procedures

• Assist in any area of production as requested by the production superintendent, plant manager or supervisor

• Learn and follow cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) in Feed Mixer’s Guide

• Other duties as assigned by plant management

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old to work in plant

• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements

• Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan

• Knowledge of FSMA

• Good communication skills; verbal and written

• Math skills sufficient to complete documentation

• Good mechanical aptitude

• Thorough understanding of cGMP’s

• Ability to cooperate with co-workers is essential

• Excellent work ethic a must

• Prior experience in feed or production related work

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Able to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs. from floor to working height as job requires

• Ability to work safely in a dust environment

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions
