Job Description:

Heluna Health invites applications for the position of Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) Coordinator – Communities of Practice & CBA Tracking System Lead, within the Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI), a branch within the Population Health Division at the San Francisco Department of Public Health.  CLI is dedicated to fostering a culture of learning, trust, and innovation. It organizes several programs focused on 1) internal training and workforce development; 2) recruitment of the future public health workforce through meaningful internships; 3) catalyzing innovations in public health through human centered design principles; and 4) capacity building for external public health agencies and related stakeholders.


Under the direction of the CBA Manager for Capacity Building Initiatives, this position will play a key role on the Leadership Team of getSFcba, a grant-funded project from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The project provides capacity building assistance in high impact HIV prevention to state, local and territorial health departments and community-based organizations across the United States. Key deliverables of the project are to provide customized, science -based technical assistance strategies and to support the implementation of Evidence Based Interventions (EBIs). The project delivers services collaboratively through a variety of staff, CBA Specialists and consultants.  


This is a temporary, grant-funded, full-time, benefitted position. Employment is provided by Heluna Health.

Pay range: $42.53-$44.67 per hour

The CBA Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of technical assistance strategies in alignment with jurisdictional needs, coordinating virtual and on-site technical assistance experiences, convening virtual learning communities (Communities of Practice) using web-based videoconferencing software (i.e., Zoom), and reporting and documentation of efforts via the online CBA Tracking System (CTS). The CBA Coordinator will also collaborate with the overall getSFcba grant team, including the Senior CBA Coordinator, to assist with creating customized materials and learning experiences (e.g., Power Point presentations, teaching aids, workshops, etc.), evaluation, marketing, and coordination of communication, while setting the highest standards of professionalism for interactive learning. The CBA Coordinator is also part of the overall CLI team and may implement training and technical assistance experiences in alignment with the SFDPH workforce development plan, CLI branch priorities and requests generated by internal staff partners.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Collect, prepare and manage data to produce reports for internal management and for satisfying grant reporting requirements (i.e., CBA Tracking System)

  • Provide logistical and administrative support for the development and implementation of virtual Communities of Practice (i.e., Social Determinants of Health, Social Network Strategy and Public Health Detailing) in collaboration with CBA Specialists

  • Engage internal and external staff and partners to identify knowledge, skills and abilities for successful delivery of High Impact HIV Prevention strategies including HIV Testing, PrEP, Academic Detailing, Navigation, Engaging Populations of Focus, Doxy-PEP, Hepatitis C, and Test to Treat/RAPID

  • Facilitate logistical support of on-going planning and implementation of technical assistance (TA) events and other collaboration efforts to local health departments and community-based organizations

  • Collaborate with internal CBA staff and external Specialists as subject matter experts to develop and review technical assistance content and proactively identify additional experts who can address content gaps

  • Communicate and manage relationships with internal and external partners, including other members of the national CBA Providers Network, health departments, community organizations, and CDC

  • Measure and assess the effectiveness of online learning communities and technical assistance solutions to inform future program requirements and identify areas where additional learning and reinforcement are required

  • Handle day-to-day administrative tasks, such as scheduling of events, meeting agendas and notes, activity tracking, travel arrangements, and other identified processes 

  • Additional duties may be assigned as-needed by the CBA Program Manager


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in health education or a related communications field 

  • 3 - 4 years of experience in HIV Prevention or Treatment or a related health field (a Master’s degree in a health education-related field can substitute for up to 2 years of experience) 

  • Experience managing, developing, and delivering health education content, including working with subject matter experts 

  • Familiarity with public health and adult learning concepts 

  • Outstanding written and verbal skills 

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail 

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint 


DESIRED QUALIFICATION(S):



  • Experience working on HIV and/or public health issues with diverse racial/ethnic communities, particularly communities of color as well as gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender communities 

  • Experience in the area of high impact HIV prevention

  • Excellent data visualization skills and creation of compelling infographics

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint, webinar software  and videoconferencing software (e.g., Zoom), and Adobe Acrobat

  • Experience liaising with contractors and vendors  

  • Experience with grant preparation and reporting, including NIH and CDC grants
