Physicians' Clinic of Iowa's Department of Family Medicine is seeking an Appointment Scheduler for its busy practice. This individual will answer, assist, and/or triage patients calling into or arriving in the department.
Other duties include but not limited to:
Answer phones via ACD line, schedule appointments and answer general non clinical questions.
Triage patient calls by obtaining applicable patient history, specific problems, duration of symptoms, severity, treatment tried and effect on symptoms
Accurately and efficiently document patient calls/inquiries and task physician and/or nursing team in Electronic Health Record system
Check out patients post visit reappointing their next visit, generating discharge summary, scheduling patients on the lab schedule if needed.
Monitoring provider's schedule to ensure accurate appointment scheduling and maximize use of provider time.
Work out going referrals to ensure referral was received by specialty office and patient contacted to schedule.
Various miscellaneous clerical duties.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times.
The qualified individual will be patient focused, possess excellent, written and oral, communication skills, and must work well with team members as well as individually.
Must also have a high level of comfort in working with computer systems.
Medical office experience preferred but not required.
