Job Summary: Oversee and manage production operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality output. Lead and motivate a team to achieve production goals, identify process improvements, and resolve issues.
Position Responsibilities:
Production Oversight: Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality, productivity, and cost standards.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage production staff, providing training, guidance, and support.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
Resource Management: Ensure availability of necessary resources, including materials, equipment, and human capital, to support production schedules.
Safety and Compliance: Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety regulations and participating in safety initiatives.
Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement efforts in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Food Science, Agricultural Sciences, or related field preferred.
Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and loss.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety procedures.
Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Experience in a food-processing or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Ability to work weekends and/or shift work.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Exposure to a noisy environment with varying temperatures.
Additional Responsibilities:
Oversee department-specific sanitation operations to maintain a clean and food-safe environment.
Evaluate subordinate performance and provide feedback for improvement.
Participate in plant and company safety programs.
Provide leadership and direction for plant continuous improvement initiatives.
Attend and lead production meetings.
Lead and manage cross-functional teams.
Respond to employee grievances.
Ensure adherence to manufacturing standards and documentation.
Work with limited direct supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
Proficiency with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems.
Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred).
