What We Do:

The Supervision Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY) supervises banks in the Second District. The objectives of supervision are to:


  • Evaluate and promote the overall safety and soundness of supervised institutions


  • Ensure supervised institutions’ compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including consumer protection


  • Facilitate the stability of the financial system of the United States


  • Support the growth and stability of the U.S. economy


Supervision is carried out through a combination of methods, including on-site and off-site examinations involving staff dedicated to the supervision of an individual firm and other professionals focused on analytical, policy and risk matters. Supervision is coordinated with other US agencies.

The Large Institution Supervision Coordinating Committee (LISCC) Program function is responsible for executing the LISCC supervisory program (covering Capital, Governance and Controls (G&C), Liquidity, Recovery and Resolution Planning, and Monitoring and Analysis) for domestic global systemically important banks (G-SIBs).  This supervision is accomplished through close coordination and in partnership with LISCC Dedicated Supervisory Teams (LISCC - DST) assigned to supervise individual firms, other Group business leaders, as well as LISCC leadership at the Board of Governors and other Federal Reserve Banks.

Your role as a Quality Management Supervising Examiner:

As a LISCC G&C Quality Management Exam Specialist, you will join a dynamic team that supports the G&C steering committee (SC), its co-chairs, and its leaders.  It also guides the G&C program through the supervisory lifecycle, including supervisory planning through to annual assessments.  In that capacity, the team helps ensure that our program executes all supervisory activities in accordance with LISCC standards and with the aim of credibly, consistently, and transparently executing the program’s supervisory objectives.  This includes, and is not limited to, ensuring that: (i) processes enable all appropriate and required collaboration and vetting engagements; (ii) assessments are appropriately consistent and delivered to firms on a timely basis; (iii) that the team provides performance and resource reporting to program leadership and (iv) that the team continuously identifies and implements areas of operational improvement.

Core responsibilities include:


  • Oversee and advance G&C’s Quality Control program and monitor and report on G&C’s execution against program standards, including but not limited to quality and completeness of workpapers as well as timeliness.  Work with the OOC, and COO to identify best practices, areas for improvement and propose and implement related solutions, including training.  


  • Manage third-party (e.g. QA, LOS, OIG, etc) reviews of the program; and lead work to address issues identified by third party reviewers. 


  • Lead the program’s MIS development and production, including of easily interpretable MIS for various audiences (e.g. co-chairs, SC members, Program Leadership Group, and the program at large); including but not be limited to, regular reporting on upcoming and completed supervisory work; and timeliness of supervisory work.  This also includes responding to inquiries regarding our business operations.

  • Demonstrated experience with quality management, e.g. assessment of performance as related to business processes, procedures, systems, and standards; engagement with various senior leadership to provide related key performance metrics, and indicators; as well as engaging with stakeholders to address questions and provide related guidance.


  • Strong ability to collaborate and develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, ranging from senior leadership through all levels of staff, and extending to third party reviewers.


  • A self-directed individual with the ability to perform responsibilities with limited guidance including ability to prioritize and multi-task. 


  • Proficiency in managing raw data, quickly assimilating new information and providing sound and insightful analytics. 


  • Effective project management skills with a track record of producing quality work products within desired timeframe.


  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbally.


  • Ability to invite challenge and diverse perspectives, synthesize information, and produce sound and clear outcomes.


  • Proficiency in using common software applications (e.g., maintain complex spreadsheets in MS Excel, develop presentations in PowerPoint, querying and reporting data using Tableau, etc.)


Salary Range: $155400 - $230000 / year
