Position Summary:

American Roller Bearing is currently seeking Shipper for its facility located in Hiddenite, NC working day shift (630a to 230p). A successful assembler values safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Etch marking, polishing, cleaning and preserving of all bearings per instructions and procedures.
  • Process all races ground, roller assemblies built and miscellaneous items manufactured at the Hiddenite facility per instructions and procedures.
  • Put up stock and/or pull stock for shipment. Package product properly for safe shipment. Process proper routing of shipments along with appropriate paperwork.
  • Limited use of calipers, etc.
  • Responsible for completing inventory tickets and other data and/or paperwork as required.
  • Use of saw, stapler, hoist, and other tools to prepare product for shipment.
  • Does final appearance inspection on finished product and notifies supervisor of any quality problems noted before shipping to customer.
  • Switches from task to task on short notice due to customer instruction changes.
  • Operates fork truck to move product and supplies.
  • Provides some training for new employees in the shipping department.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
  • Make sure all safety requirements are being met at all times
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Education:


  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:


  • The minimum length of time required to attain quality and quantity standards of assigned work under normal supervision is three months.

Skills:


  • Must having working command of the English language, and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions)
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Must be able to safely operator forklift
  • Knowledge of bearing components and how they work together
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of Company policies

Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are up to 25 pounds. The use of a hoist is required for heavier weight over 25 pounds

All associates are required to wear protective eyewear, hearing protection, and slip resistant, steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor.
