Summary:

We seek a motivated and experienced consultant to support a variety of projects within Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) technical areas. The consultant will contribute to projects across the Advisory Services team and ECS unit, work with management to support business development efforts, and develop project management skills. They will support projects, contribute to proposals, and contribute to Tetra Tech's leadership in the sustainability consulting space. Projects will primarily be focused on sustainability and ESG program implementation, climate resiliency, and environmental regulatory compliance for a variety of clients, primarily in the commercial/ industrial sectors. The individual will be expected to work on various projects in parallel, independently defining project sub-tasks, and performing the tasks in a time-efficient manner in a collaborative team environment. Projects may be national or global in scope and are likely to focus on emerging environmental sustainability issues and environmental regulatory compliance. Client site visits and field work for projects are anticipated in this role; travel commitment is projected to be 20 - 30%. A clear driving history and current Driver's License is required.

Your Role:

Interact with Tetra Tech teams and our commercial/ industrial clients to collect data and progressively develop solutions and work products for task and project completion.


  • Perform data analysis utilizing software, spreadsheets, databases, or other novel solutions to assist with delivering project solutions to clients.
  • Augment data analysis with topical research and offer integrated solutions to real-world problems associated with sustainability best practices, risk evaluation, and climate resiliency recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver proficient technical documents, reports, and presentations related to the project's needs.
  • Apply knowledge gained in previous assignments to subsequent projects and assignments.

In addition, the consultant will demonstrate increasing leadership in the following key areas:

  • Self-motivated, client support role. Support Project delivery, managing tasks and delivering project scope.
  • High attention to detail. Rigorous analysis of qualitative and quantitative data for polished deliverables.
  • Client facing role. Ability to prepare proposals, grow client relationships and develop leads for additional Tetra Tech services.
  • Team collaboration. The ability to manage small teams and lead by example when working in small teams, large teams, with other Tetra Tech units for project support.
  • Management Consulting Experience including strategic change management support, strategic communication development, market landscape analysis, and merger and acquisition support.
  • Proven Business Development track record. Collaborating across the operating unit and across Tetra Tech to link EHS and ESG offerings with other technical services.
  • Project Management. The consultant will manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of high-quality products aligned with client needs and expectations. An empathetic leader, they will foster collaboration through clear communication with clients and team members. They will stay up to date on project management certifications and seek opportunities to expand their management expertise.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university. Accredited degrees are preferred but not required.
  • 8+ years of experience managing projects and teams.
  • Experience in management consulting.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to execute and synthesize qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated ability to generate new business.
  • Understanding of key ESG and EHS frameworks and ability to stay on top of trends.

Target salary range: $35.00-40.00/hr. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
