Senior Healthcare Analyst, Business Analytics at San Francisco Health Plan in San Francisco, California

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Business Analytics, the Senior Healthcare Analyst will serve a key role in analyzing company clinical and operational data to deliver optimal health care management. You will work as part of a collaborative team and with Information Technology partners from internal business units, using data to achieve the needs and goals of SFHP members, providers, and management.

Please note that SFHP supports a hybrid work environment - this role will be required to be onsite and in-office a minimum of 4 days per month.

Salary range - $130,000 - $162,000

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Use your in-depth knowledge of managed care principals, applied statistics and analysis concepts, and health care data to support our critical business needs.
• Elicit and document business user requirements to guide agile development of reporting and analytic solutions.
• Develop visual storytelling that provides insights and recommendations as well as allowing the business to view statistical outcomes, KPIs, and conduct self-service analytics.
• Create partnerships with internal customers to lead the use of data-driven decision-making.
• Help develop data structures to guide accurate reporting and analytics.
• Foster an environment that solicits and enlists diverse and inclusive perspectives and approaches to better serve our staff, our members and our providers.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Masters in Public Health (MPH) or similar degree with a strong working knowledge of statistics or data science.
• 3+ years of experience, including experience using health care administrative data sets.
• Experience with healthcare claims, encounter and eligibility data.
• Familiarity with industry standard schemas (e.g. ICD-10 coding, NDCs, HCPCS).
• The ability to create and communicate data process and storytelling.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL queries including the use of JOINs.
