This position is primarily responsible for operating machines in a manufacturing environment; maintaining quality and safety standards; and maintaining equipment and supplies in our Kimball, TN plant
Loads or feeds mechanism by lifting stock into position
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
Maintains specifications by observing machine operation process; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs as directed
Will be required to cross train and work in other departments as needed
Required:
General math skills with the ability to understand measuring/measurement concepts and their applications.
Familiarity with basic tools of measuring and when to use for inspection of parts.
Must be organized, detail oriented.
Ability to read and use micrometers, calipers, and other quality tools
Standing for long periods and lifting up to 50lbs.
Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing type environment.
Work Safely in the Manufacturing Production Environment.
Follow detailed verbal / written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
Read and understand work orders and assembly instructions.
Prepare and assemble materials and parts in a manufacturing production environment.
Move, process, and organize materials and manufactured products.
Perform quality control checks and verification of work order specifications.
Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly.
Communicates and works effectively with others.
Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Supervisor.
Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma/GED equivalent required or a WorkKeys Score of 3 on Tests for Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents.
3 or more years operating applicable machinery in a manufacturing and production environment
Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing type environment.
