General Duties:
This position will manage, operate, sustain, and provide logistical and general support for IT services at the Moorman Space Education Center. This position will perform all tasks associated with IT System Administration and maintenance in support of the following existing and future networks: NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, and Top Secret closed restricted network, commercial, and other IT initiatives as determined by the 319 CTS Commander. The position requires a customer focus, sense of personal accountability, and desire/ability to solve information technology problems quickly, with minimal service disruption to service.
Specific duties:
Troubleshoot, fix failures and document them in a maintenance log
Network switch maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance which includes but is not limited to installation of: new software releases, system upgrades, and patches
Create/maintain server support documentation and operational guides
Test and evaluate new network hardware and software to determine compatibility with current systems
Provide consolidated help desk function/serve as IT focal point for customer support. The consolidated help desk function shall be capable of handling the full range of IT-related issues to include:
Support walk up, telephone or e-mail customer problem resolution; receive, answer and transfer, when required, trouble calls and maintenance requests in support of all missions and personnel; assign a ticket number and track communication system outages and repair actions until the issue is resolved; and deliver any and all software, designs, records, databases, manuals, guides, standard operating procedures, and similar items developed in rendering problem resolution services
Other IT duties as assigned
Assist in the performance of ISSO duties as necessary:
Implements and enforce all AF/SF cybersecurity policies, and countermeasures.
Completes and maintains required cybersecurity certification IAW AFMAN 17-1303. Individuals in this position must be U.S. citizens. (T-3) (Sec+ ce/or approved cert by the DoD)
Ensures all users have the requisite security clearances and need-to-know, complete annual cybersecurity training, and are aware of their responsibilities before being granted access to the IT according to AFMAN 17-1301
Maintains all authorized user access control documentation IAW the applicable AF Records Information Management System
Ensures software, hardware, and firmware complies with appropriate security configuration guidelines (e.g., security technical implementation guides /security requirement guides)
Required Skills
Experience Required: (example below)
System administration experience, preferably with USAF NIPR and SIPR
Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, or systems engineering preferred. 6 years of System Administration experience may be substituted with a Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
5 years of experience with customer focused system administration
Salary Range:
$95,000 – $120,000 (annually).
