RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Watertown, MA that is seeking a Tax Staff Accountant to join their team. This client is a well-known company located in the Boston area. They have a great environment/culture and flexibility. This role will work in a hybrid schedule, being mostly onsite.

Responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for Tax preparation, compliance, and planning


• Tax Staff Accountant will research and review Federal, State, and local tax laws and regulations


• Involve analyzing financial data and forecasting tax implications


• Maintain organized records of tax return and other documents


• Audit support - provide necessary documentation and explanations to tax authorities


• Training and development - keeping current with new tax laws, accounting software, and best practices in the industry


• As a Tax Staff Accountant, you will collaborate with other accountants, financial analysts, and legal professionals


• Perform tax related projects as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a Finance/Business related degree


• 1 to 5 years of experience with internal departments and outside parties in an accounting or tax role


• Tax knowledge - Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations, income tax, corporate tax, sales tax and payroll tax


• Proficient in accounting principles, practices, and ability to prepare financial statements


• Attention to detail


• Analytical skills


• Problem solving skills


• Communication skills - strong written and verbal to explain complex tax concepts


• Strong customer service skills interpersonal skills and client focused approach to build relationships and understand clients' needs


• Ethical judgement, understanding ethical practices in accounting and tax preparation ensuring compliance and integrity in all client dealings


• Teamwork - working with other accounting professionals and junior accountants

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
