Job Description:


JSL is seeking an Engineer that will provide support to the Guns Weapons System (GWS), Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), DDG 1000, Tomahawk, and Harpoon Programs for In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) and Test & Evaluation (T&E) support to include hardware/software engineering, installation/modernization, system integration, testing, data collection/analysis, review/update specifications/documents, cybersecurity, and writing test plans/reports. The candidate will perform the following tasking:

1. Perform engineering analysis, assessments, investigations, distance support, and evaluations for combat, weapon, network, and ancillary systems aboard Navy ships and laboratories.

2. Provide support for the development, review, and update of engineering, logistics, cybersecurity, and T&E white papers, analysis, and post event reports.

3. Develop, update, test, and validate hardware/software procedures, processes, and technical documents (drawings, technical manuals, MRCs) used by ISEAs and shipboard personnel to support assessments, T&E events, installations, cybersecurity events, and responding to Fleet Tech Assists (FTA).

4. Go onboard ships, submarines, and/or laboratories to operate and maintain or modernize systems and equipment.

5. Develop, update, and review cybersecurity Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) packages, perform monthly scans/assessments, and perform engineering analysis of cybersecurity related concerns.

6. Provide support for development of test plans, scenarios, objectives and other documentation in support of cybersecurity events. Participate in the assessment and validation of networks, IT equipment, and software for cybersecurity vulnerabilities during test events.

7. Provide test support for Developmental Test (DT), Operational Test (OT), and Combat Systems Ships Qualification and Test (CSSQT) to include creating/maintaining security access lists, scheduling industrial equipment and transportation, and providing project management support.

8. Provide support for Availability planning and execution

9. Provide support for design and production of combat and weapon system equipment

10. Provide support for LCS Mission Package Support Facility such as planning, maintenance, testing and embark/debark of mission modules.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with presenting and hosting meetings via MS Teams to medium/multi-office audiences on a weekly basis
  • Editing MS PowerPoint documents to include embedded tables
  • Recording meeting minutes (Notes and Action Items)
  • Organized and able to incorporate data from multiple sources into weekly PPT reports
  • Familiarity with MS Excel
  • Familiarity with SQL or Atlassian type JIRA Database language for inputs/tracking updates
  • Good coordination and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Navy Ship Systems, specifically LCS variants
  • Advanced understanding of Engineering Processes
  • Engineering Degree desired in specific engineering field and/or minimum three years Engineering Support
  • Valid U.S. Government Secret Clearance

Security Clearance:


Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance.
